About the Role
As Financial Controller at Powerfleet, you will lead the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of the company’s financial reporting and operations. You will oversee the finance and accounting team, ensuring strong internal controls, compliance, and financial insights that enable data-driven decision-making. This role plays a critical part in supporting Powerfleet’s continued growth by providing transparency into business performance, optimizing cash flow, and partnering with leadership to drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
Ensure full compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
Supervise the accounting team and ensure accurate ledger entries and reconciliations.
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Oversee reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
Lead the preparation of rolling forecasts and variance analyses.
Monitor and analyze actual vs. budget performance, providing clear explanations for deviations.
Provide actionable financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Evaluate financial risks and opportunities to enhance business outcomes.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit
Maintain and enhance internal control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Ensure adherence to tax laws, corporate regulations, and audit requirements.
Coordinate internal and external audits and support audit readiness across the organization.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
Maintain effective banking relationships and optimize treasury operations.
Ensure sufficient funding is available to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
Strategic Business Partnership
Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to align finance with business objectives.
Provide clear financial guidance and insights to the leadership team.
Support continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and reporting.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
Allocate responsibilities, set clear performance objectives, and drive team development.
Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Strong understanding of the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow interactions.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Extensive experience preparing financial statements and managing the general ledger and close processes.
Strong time management skills and high sense of ownership.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams.
