About the Role
The Business Development Specialist: Channel Partners is responsible for driving sales growth within the Direct-to-Market Partner Channel. This includes enabling partners, onboarding new vendors and dealers, and strengthening relationships with commercial call centers, insurance partners, approved resellers, and selected motor dealers. The role carries a defined sales target and focuses on increasing net billable fleet growth across the partner network.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the Direct-to-Market Partner Channel, ensuring alignment with company strategy and market objectives.
- Enable partners through training, onboarding, and regular engagement to ensure long-term success.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, conducting market research to track trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
- Develop, execute, and maintain key account plans, including call cycles, quarterly reviews, and growth strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce CRM, including sales activity, forecasts, and customer engagement.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Deliver accurate sales reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management (<5% variance).
- Coordinate with internal teams (operations, finance, and support) to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Provide training to partner sales and administrative staff on Powerfleet products, applications, and sales techniques.
- Develop and present tailored proposals to prospective customers and partners.
- Stay up to date on product developments, technology advancements, and industry changes to support business growth.
- Monitor sales channel behavior, performance against budget, and market indicators to guide decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management in line with business needs.
Qualifications
- Matric plus tertiary education or equivalent.
- 7–10 years’ experience in telematics products and services, with a strong background in solution sales and account management.
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and driving partner/channel growth.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Salesforce CRM.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure while maintaining a positive, customer-centric approach.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and reliable, roadworthy transport.
- Willingness and ability to travel freely within the assigned territory.
